Youth Empowerment for Online Safety
Thailand | Youth Empowerment for Online Safety β ROAR II | 2024
Sawasdee!
We are the Youth Leaders under the Respect Ourselves, Accentuate Resilience (ROAR II) Project, a youth-led initiative focused on digital safety, child protection, and online empowerment. In 2024, we launched the Youth Empowerment for Online Safety Campaign to raise awareness about the risks of online exploitation and equip young people with the skills to navigate the digital world safely. Our mission? To create a safer online environment where youth are empowered to protect themselves and their peers from digital threats.

The Right-Sized Problem
As digital platforms become increasingly central to everyday life, young people face growing risks of online exploitation, cyberbullying, scams, and data breaches. Many lack the awareness and tools to identify and respond to these threats, making them vulnerable to online harm. Without proper education and safeguards, these challenges will continue to escalate.
What did we do?
Through workshops, digital campaigns, and peer-led initiatives, we engaged youth, schools, and communities in online safety education and advocacy.

π£οΈ Community Engagement Events β Engaged students, parents, and educators in dialogues on online exploitation, gaming addiction, and digital security.

One of the most inspiring success stories was a youth-led initiative in schools, where students designed and implemented their own digital safety training sessions. By taking charge of their learning, they educated peers on online risks, fostering a culture of awareness and protection.
Another notable story is of a young participant who transformed from being hesitant to a confident youth leader, now advocating for digital literacy at provincial forums.
